From October 24th to 27th, 2013, we participated in the XV SAE Brasil Aerodesign competition. This year the competition  had a record number of participants with more than 1400 engineering students. In this edition, the Urubus team continued its design and organization philosophy, and won the unprecedented 2nd place in the regular class, earning the right to join together with the teams Uira (Regular Class Champion),EESC-USP Mike(Micro class champion) andAeroRIO(Advanced class champion) representing Brazil in the North American competition. In addition of that, we won the unprecedented honorable mention of greater load carried during the XV edition. Despite the difficulties encountered with sponsors, members, infrastructure, the team never doubted its potential and with unity and teamwork, it overcame all these problems and made this victory possible.

 

  We members are very happy with this result and even more excited to continue with the next aircraft. The satisfaction we had is deserved by everyone who is dedicated to Aerodesign and who has this passion for airplanes. We would like to thank the former members,  Faculdade de Engenharia Mecânica and Unicamp for their support and also our sponsors who make this dream possible with their support.   With this we hope to continue the good work and bring more victories home, valuing what we learned by being part of this project.
